Engineering design
- KTPK Taiga is manufactured in metallic containers of two types: left-side when the entrance to the switchgear compartment is situated on the left side of the container relative to the gate of the transformer compartment, and right-side the entrance to the switchgear compartment is situated on the right side of the container relative to the gate of the transformer compartment.
- KTPK Taiga has common unit of high voltage switchgear and low voltage switchgear (switchgear unit) and power transformer unit. The performance of KTPK Taiga with separated user's part is possible that provides the layout of high voltage switchgear in one container and low voltage switchgear with power transformer in the other one.
- The types of cable and bus connections are in the table 7.1.
- High voltage switchgear and low voltage switchgear are independently mountable elements of KTPK Taiga and their maintenance is carried out from the inner corridor. Mounting and maintenance of the power transformers are carried out via gate without switchgear compartments' equipment demounting. For the substation with oil transformer oil collector must be placed in cable work under the transformer. Oil collector should be rated at the whole oil volume of the transformer. In this case in the floor of the compartment under the transformer gravel-filled oil receiver is placed intended for oil drain in case of damage of the transformer.
- The construction of the module is a fabricated frame made of special joist webs. In the main frame and frame members there are corner fittings for crane lifting and transportation of the module. The cladding of the module is made of shaped sheet C-21 1,5 mm thickness which is welded on to the skeleton frame by the solid weld. Interior paneling is made of zinc-coated shaped sheet C-8 0,55 mm thickness, which is fixed by bolt screws. Inside the paneling there are heat insulating slabs 50 or 100 mm thickness. Floor covering is made of corrugated iron 5mm, the bottom of the module is covered by iron sheet 1,2 mm. The floor is winterized by heat insulating slabs of 150 mm.
- For hermetic encapsulation of external connection cables in the floor of the module under high voltage switchgear and low voltage switchgear cable sealing and gaskets can be mounted. For this purpose total information about the quantity, trademarks and section of the outgoing cables should be provided.
- Combined extract and input ventilation is provided in KTPK Taiga. For this purpose in containers there are ventilators equipped by rotary shutters. Regulation of air consumption is provided by the rotation angle with the help of mechanical drive.
- On the request of the customer KTPK Taiga can be manufactured with airhead that keeps up continuous air overpressure. For this purpose ventilating chamber is provided. Air intake is carried out through vertical tube from the height where the concentration of dangerous substances has allowable for normal maintenance value.
- Rated parameters of the outdoor environment climatic factors when operating KTPK Taiga according to GOST 15543.1 and GOST 15150:
- Ambient temperature from -45(60) oÑ to + 40 oÑ;
- Relative humidity up to 100%;
- Altitude above sea level not more than 1000 m;
- Ambient non dangerously explosive, doesn't contain current-conducting dust, aggressive gases and fumes of concentration wrecking materials and isolation, ambience of the types I and II according to GOST 15543.1 and GOST 15150:
- The floor of the container welded from steel checkered sheet provides grounding for both sides of low and high voltage. The neutral of the line transformer and all metallic noncurrent-carrying parts of the equipment that can be alive are welded or screwed on to the floor. KTPK Taiga has two stages for connection to outer grounding mat that are marked like «Grounding». The calculation of the grounding device is performed for particular project with particular conditions.
- For auxiliary feeding there is a auxiliary desk in the switchgear compartment that is fed by low voltage switchgear. When high voltage switchgear is equipped by power switches with microprocessor relay protection or there is an automatic standby activation circuit in this case uninterruptible power supply is connected to auxiliary desk for prompt feeding.
- KTPK Taiga compartments are equipped by the bulbs of 36V 50Hrz that are fed by step-down transformer 220/36V mounted to auxiliary desk. The luminescent lams and outdoor lightning are possible on request. On the shutter of the auxiliary desk there are power outlets of 36V 50Hrz and 220V 50 Hrz for low voltage lamps and electro appliances feeding. For dewfall protection and electro equipment normal operation there are heaters in the compartments of the switchgear. The heaters are provided by thermostats and can work in mechanical or automatic mode.

KTPK Taiga basement modifications
- Strip-type Concrete base is underpoured at a depth of frost penetration into the perimeter of the positionable containers taking into account lead-in and outgoing cable entries and trays. It is necessary to provide the apertures for cabling and trays service.
- Pile-type Piles are poled into the perimeter of the positionable containers at the interval not more than 3 meters. Upper shear of the poles should be at grade for sag-free mounting. Basement area should be protected from unauthorized access by protective barriers (nettings).
- Block-type Basement made of cement blocks is underpoured at a depth of frost penetration into the perimeter of the positionable containers. It is necessary to provide the apertures for cabling and trays service.
Transportation and storing
KTPK Taiga is delivered to destination completely packaged. Power transformer is installed at the regular place and firmed in the compartment against movement with the help of tightening screws. Before operation it is necessary to unfasten the transformer, cut the screw hooks if necessary and color the cutoff places. Each KTPK Taiga module is equipped with fittings for lifting, loading and unloading of the module by crane.
Storage ambient temperature for the conservated KTPK Taiga is from 60
oÑ up to +40
oÑ.
Mounting
KTPK Taiga construction provides its mounting on the ready basement ground. There are 3 main variants of basements:
- Monolithic ferroconcrete strip basement;
- Ferroconcrete poles;
- Concrete box units.
Outside surface of the basement should be covered with water stop like bitumastic, silicone paint and such like. The depth of foundation is determined in both variants by the definite project. At the request of the customer or design engineering firm other constructions of basements are possible.
Lifting and moving of the KTPK Taiga are carried out by crane through strapping hooks (included in the KTPK Taiga set) and corner fittings in two ways:
- using cross-beams with slings at the tips;
- using long slings.
Operation safety
KTPK Taiga operation safety is provided by:
- Application in low voltage switchgears modern cubicles that reduce the risk of maintenance staff electric injury and have great degree of live parts' protection from dust, moisture and small animals penetration. Operational control of cubicles is put into effect without opening doors.
- Application in low voltage switchgears of one-side service panels divided into different compartments for switching devices and bus bars. Operational control of cubicles is put into effect without opening doors.
- System of mechanical and electromagnetic interlock in low voltage switchgears and high voltage switchgears blocking false switching.
- Safe and accessible for control grounding system. Ground loop connection is provided by cooper wire or welding.
- Wiring point is marked like «Grounding». In low voltage switchgears and high voltage switchgears there are sites for portable ground grid connection while testing and measuring.
- Availability of mono-circuits and mechanical indicators of the devices placed from the front side of the switchgear.
- Availability of light voltage indicator of bus bars and high voltage switchgear connections;
- Availability of 36 V outlets for feeding of measuring devices and portable work lights.
