Range of application and function
KSO – 190 Iva is intended for switch-gears 6(10)kV voltage of three-phase alternating current with 50 Herz frequency in the circuits with isolated neutral terminal, earthed by arc-suppressing reactor or resistor.
KSO – 190 Iva is used for completing the modular, fitted and switch-gear devices of transformer substations.
Service conditions
Cubicles are the indoor electrical equipment;
- Height above sea level – not more than 1000m;
- Ambient air temperature – from 50 oС to + 40 oС;
- Relative humidity not more than 80% at + 15 oС;
- Ambient – non dangerously explosive, doesn’t contain current-conducting dust, aggressive gases and fumes of concentration wrecking materials and isolation;
- Operating position – vertical; possible deflection from operating position 2 degrees in any direction;
- KSO – 190 Iva operation should be executed in accordance with guideline.

KSO Iva Design
- Body is made of galvanized steel 2mm thick. Devices are connected by bearing heavy dynamic forces under short-circuit currents, transportation and mounting.
- Has three isolated compartments:

- High-voltage and collecting bus compartments are divided for accident prevention. Conductor parts are isolated by automatic shutters. Such construction enables to perform operations in cell when collecting bus is alive.
- Access to collecting bus is provided through lift-off cover or low-voltage compartment.
- It is possible to lift-off the floor in order to mount and dress the cable.
- It is proved by testing that the door has a intensified construction enabling to localize the arc.
- Backwall has unloading valves activating by short circuit that provides safety to servicemen.
- Cell grounding terminal connected to outside grounding mat is made of cooper.

On the steel frame are mounted bearing epoxy-resin isolators which fix contact elements.
The upper bell insulator (1) supports, on its outside, the main upper terminal (2) and, on its inside, the fixed contact (3), consisting of the contact fingers (4) and of the contact rod (5). With the switch disconnector in open position, the bell insulator is shut by a hinged shutter (20), actuated by the shaft (13) of earthing switch together with the blades of same, thus achieving a complete and reliable segregation of the live parts. This is the most prominent feature of the LBS series ISARC, covered by the patent n. 26743A-79 VEI.
The lower insulator (6) supports the lower terminal (7), the moving contact cylinder (8) and the guiding tulip contact assembly (9).
Activity description
KSO-190 Iva are equipped by three-pole double-throw load-break switch with earthing switch ISARC. The three poles of the load-break switch are mounted on a single galvanized steel frame and are operated by the single fitted spring drive using the potential energy of the cocked spring. The spring is cocked manually with the help of operating handle or by engine drive.
- The design of the device provides mechanical overlapping by isolating shutters of the collecting bus compartment.
- The open/close mechanical sequences are operated by:
- switch disconnector operating shaft;
- earthing switch shaft.
- All necessary blockings are provided.
- Operational type of the ISARC switches according GOST 17717-79-1Б &;#151; for frequent switching operations for rated currents before 630A.
- Switches are integrally fused and have groundings.
- Arc extinction is made in the air by compression.
